About Us

The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. is a registered non-profit organization. It is engaged in promoting friendship and cohesiveness among all the Brahmin members of the state of Georgia. The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. was founded in 1996 in response to the diverse nature of the socio-cultural need of Indian American Brahmin community in Georgia.

Today, The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. encompasses & represents individuals of Asian Indian Brahmin descent & various Indian American Brahmin cultural groups across Georgia. The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. is a local organization that helps furnish, maintain, and protect the infrastructures that promote the support to the Indian American Brahmin community members in general and its member�s welfare at large.

 

The Brahmin Samaj is based on Indian culture which tries to bring awareness and values into the main stream of fellow Brahmins and Indians. The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. organizes a minimum of four programs during the year; Maha Shivaratri, Camping, Summer Picnic and a Diwali Milan. The Samaj works towards a social fabric of day to day activities of Brahmins and other Asian Indians.

 

The eventual goal of The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. is to study and resolve social needs of youths; and to preserve and promote Indian and Brahmin heritage and culture for future generations. Another goal of the Samaj would also like to support the elderly in the community by tending to their needs. Another is to prevent violence in the family/community by providing a forum for discussion and support groups among peers.

 

The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. has two broad aims: Cultural Preservation and Community support Source. At the same time, because The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. is a non-profit organization, a third challenge exists: maintaining a Governing Structure that is modest and frugal, yet effective. As every one knows; the assorted activities of the Association are from the Cultural to the Religious Events Celebrations; from the Local and national Brahmin Associations, The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. is a diverse organization with diverse activities.

 

Indeed, as The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. is the advocate of Brahmin Community of approximately 70,000 Georgians who claim Indian ancestry. Now after 15 years The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. is preparing to go abroad upon providing better service to this increased population of Indian American Brahmin Community by expanding its elegance of service to the community.

 

All Brahmins are called upon to join this association of selfless interest and zeal of achieving knowledge of golden era of Hindu heritage. Currently the Samaj has over 150 Life Member Families and also some Annual Member Families. The Annual Membership fee is $50.00 and the Life Membership Fee is $300.00. The membership year runs from January through December.
